Settings & Profile
The profile and settings areas control your account details, app preferences, privacy choices, and optional experimental tools.
Profile
Use your profile to review or update account information such as:
- Display name.
- Account email.
- Interface language.
- Password.
- Analytics preference.
Keep your account email current. Project invitations and password reset messages depend on that address.
Change interface language
LangQuest supports multiple interface languages. To change the app language:
- Open your profile or settings.
- Find the language option.
- Choose the language you want.
- Return to the app and confirm labels are readable for your team.
Changing the interface language does not change project target languages or recorded content.
Theme
LangQuest supports light and dark modes. Use the theme option that is easiest to read in your environment.
- Use light mode in bright daylight when contrast is better.
- Use dark mode at night or in low-light meetings.
Analytics preference
LangQuest may include an analytics preference that helps the team understand app reliability and usage. If available, you can opt in or out from your profile.
Analytics settings do not replace project privacy. Project content and collaboration access are still controlled by project visibility and membership.
When analytics is enabled, the website privacy policy says LangQuest may collect usage and device information such as app version, device metadata, screens viewed, buttons clicked, crash events, loading events, and general location based on IP address. If you are signed in and have not opted out, usage events may be associated with your account user ID, but your email address is not sent to the analytics provider for that purpose.
On supported devices, limited session replay may be used to diagnose bugs and improve usability. Text typed into forms is masked.
To opt out, open your profile settings and disable analytics tracking.
Language Data and Privacy
LangQuest's current privacy policy says contributed content, including translations, audio recordings, comments, and votes, is made freely available worldwide under CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.
This open-data model is central to LangQuest's language preservation mission, but it also means teams should avoid contributing content that should remain private, restricted, or sensitive.
Before starting a project, project leaders should confirm that contributors and community stakeholders understand how submitted language data may be shared and reused.
Experimental features
Some settings enable beta or experimental tools. These may include:
- AI translation suggestions.
- Auto-transcription.
- Audio merge.
- FIA workflow access.
- Language suggestion tools.
- Debug or diagnostic options.
Use experimental features when they help your work, but review their output carefully. AI and transcription results should be checked by a human speaker or translator before being trusted.
Download and backup preferences
Settings may include options for download behavior, Wi-Fi-only downloads, or automatic backup behavior.
For field work:
- Download needed quests before travel.
- Use Wi-Fi for large media when possible.
- Confirm content is available offline before leaving connectivity.
- Leave enough device storage for new recordings.
Hidden content
Some projects may include hidden or invisible quests and assets. If your role allows it, a setting may let you show hidden content.
Only enable this when you need to review or manage hidden material. Most translators should leave hidden content out of normal working views.
Feedback
Use the in-app feedback option to report:
- Bugs.
- Feature requests.
- Confusing screens.
- Problems with field workflows.
Include enough detail for the team to understand what happened: device type, project type, whether you were offline, and the steps that led to the issue.
Account deletion
If you need to delete your account, use the account deletion option in the app. It is under Advanced at the bottom of the Profile screen.
Account deletion may deactivate your profile and prevent normal app access. Before deleting:
- Sync important work.
- Export content you need to keep.
- Transfer project ownership if other team members still need the project.
- Confirm you understand what will happen to your account.
If your account appears deleted unexpectedly, contact support before creating duplicate project data.
For privacy questions or account data requests, the website privacy policy lists admin@frontierrnd.com as the contact email. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Some deleted data may remain in backup systems for up to 90 additional days, and contributed CC0 content remains public-domain content that cannot be withdrawn.
